About Me

My name is Laura.  I’m married and have three children: two daughters, S and E, and a son A.  E is our child with CAS.  I don’t use my children’s names when I’m writing because I feel they deserve the privacy.  I’m choosing to write about our Apraxia Adventures and not them.  Perhaps someday, E, or her brother or sister, will like to share their experiences.  But that is their choice and I will leave it up to them.

I am not an expert in CAS but I am an expert in my daughter E.  All I can share with you is our experience, the things I have learned, and the things I wish I already knew along the way.  I have the added insight of working in the public school system.  I’ve seen special education from both sides, which is something I wish all parents, teachers, therapists, and administrators could do.  It is extremely enlightening and has given me a level of compassion for other human beings that I did not have before.

Welcome to my website, and remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint!
